Overview
Cetinje is a city – museum and it has a lot of interesting stories to tell to its visitors After arriving at Cetinje, we will take an easy city tour through the historical path of this cozy town. We will visit the Monastery of Cetinje, pass next to Cipuri church, new castle – Biljarda, King Nicola’s Castle – today museum, the Presidential Palace and take a walk on the main pedestrian street.
Then we will have 30 minutes sightseeing ride in direction of the village Nyegushi. This village, known as a birth place of Petrovic dynasty members is well known for production of prosciutto ham, dry cheese, Rakija (strong brandy traditional for this region, especially former Yugoslav counties), honey wine, and you will have opportunity to taste in one of the oldest bars in Montenegro, and to see special room adapted for drying prosciutto.
When we reach the ‘Lake Peak’ of mountain Lovcen we will visit the mausoleum that is the burial place of our most famous poet, country and church leader Archbishop Petar II Petrovic Njegos. Keep in mind that to reach the top of the mausoleum you need to walk up to 461 stairs, but the climb is absolutely worth it! You will get to see and understand its great historical background and treat yourself to a remarkable 360 degrees view on Montenegro. After the mausoleum visit, we will continue driving to the central part of Lovcen national park, followed by beautiful forest and peaceful environment.
